The Ivy Tutoring, Education for the paths ahead

About

There is more than one way to build an extraordinary future.

Traditional education often assumes there is one correct sequence. We believe students can begin building their futures much earlier, and that they shouldn't all be building the same thing.

Who we work with

  • Some will pursue the most selective universities.
  • Some will become researchers.
  • Some will build companies.
  • Some will create.
  • Some will combine several paths.

The company exists to help students recognise their possibilities earlier, and to develop the capabilities to pursue them.

Our story

  1. 01

    The beginning

    The problem we saw.

Education assumed one correct sequence: grades, a test, an application, a job. Students got help with each step from different people who never spoke to each other. Nobody was looking at the whole student, or at the other routes open to them.

  2. 02

    The first students

    The early proof.

Working one-to-one, it became clear that the most useful sessions weren't only about content. They were about choices: which course to take next year, which activity to go deeper in, what to stop doing. Instruction worked better when it sat inside a plan.

  3. 03

    The system

    Tutoring became strategy.

So the work was organised around that idea. Assess first, plan in writing, teach and practise, measure, adapt. College consulting grew out of the same method, started earlier, and extended past admission.

  4. 04

    The platform

Technology began expanding what Ivy could do.

Working online meant the best tutor for a student no longer had to live nearby, and every session could be saved and reviewed. The Ivy Forecast came from the same instinct: give families a structured, honest view of where a student stands, before anyone sells them anything.

  5. 05

    The future

Building a new model of student development.

One continuous record of a student's growth, from middle school through college and into a career, with human expertise where it matters most and good software everywhere else.

What we believe.

Instruction needs strategy.
Knowing what to learn next matters as much as learning it well.
Online is better, not cheaper.
It lets us match students to the right expert, wherever they are, and keep a record of every session.
Technology should make judgement visible.
Good software shows families the reasoning behind advice, so they can question it.
College is a milestone.
The goal is a capable, independent adult. Admission is one step toward that.
